
The Suffolk University Athletics Department released their 2011 Fall Sports Schedules for the upcoming seasons.
The Suffolk University Men’s Soccer team will look to defend last season’s Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship as they open up their 18-game regular season schedule with a weekend tournament on September 3rd as part of the Regis Pride Tournament hosted by Regis College in Weston, MA. The Rams open up GNAC play a week later as they host Albertus Magnus College on September 10 in a rematch of last year’s conference champion as part of a 10-game league schedule. Suffolk has eight home games slated for the upcoming season. The Rams will be playing all of their home contests at Dilboy Stadium in Somerville.
The Suffolk University Women’s Soccer team opens up the 2011 season as they host Eastern Nazarene College at their home pitch, Dilboy Stadium in Somerville. The Rams will open the new season with a three-game home stand before their GNAC season starts. Suffolk, who finished with the best regular season record with a 10-2 mark in 2010 will open up league play on September 14 as they travel to Maine to take on the Monks of St. Joseph’s College. The Rams will play a 17-game regular season schedule, that includes 13 GNAC contests before their season rounds out with a non-league matchup against Gordon College on October 25.
The GNAC Playoff Tournament will open up the final weekend of October with the Championship games for both the men’s and women’s side will be on Saturday November 5.
The Suffolk University Women’s Tennis team will open up their 2011 season with a GNAC matchup against the league’s newest member, Anna Maria College on September 10. The Rams 12-game regular season schedule will feature four home contests at the courts on the campus of the Buckingham, Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge, MA. All four home contests slated for the Rams will be league matchups that include defending conference champion Simmons College on October 5, and cross-town rival, Emerson College on October 10. The GNAC Tournament will open up on October 19 and run through the weekend with the championship scheduled for October 23.
The Suffolk University Volleyball team will open up their 2011 campaign under new Head Coach Noel Moran as part of the Regis Pride Tournament on September 2. The Rams will take the court on September 10 at the Regan Gymnasium in their home opener as part of a GNAC Tri-Match as they welcome in Norwich University and Simmons College. The Rams will play a 30-game regular season schedule that includes eight home dates as the only fall team to play on Suffolk’s campus. The GNAC Tournament will open up on November 1st and run through Saturday November 5.
Schedules for Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country and Golf have not been released yet, but will be released later this month.
