Former Baseball Player Paul Campano Named as a "New Leader of 2009"

Former Suffolk University Baseball player Paul Campano was recently named as a "New Leader of 2009" by Banker and Tradesman Magazine.

Campano currently works as a Senior Sales Associate for Keller Williams Realty in Cambridge while residing in Boston. Campano pitched for the Rams from 1996-98 under current Head Coach Cary McConnell, while majoring in Computer Science.

In his time working for Keller Williams, Campano has sold three major properties in the Boston area that have seen record breaking sales for his group in terms of price and property type in that given location. One of which was a condominium in East Boston that sold for $ 1.15 million.

Aside from his real estate work, Campano also founded Trooptags.com, whose goal is to raise money for military personnel. His project helps fund a number of programs including sending care packages to troops that are currently deployed and purchasing specialized computers to give to troops that are rehabbing from catastrophic injuries as a means to communicate.

Campano attributed much of his current success to his experiences while at Suffolk. "My Suffolk experience helped lay the groundwork for my success later in life. Playing for Coach McConnell helped teach me the importance of hard work, discipline, and teamwork all of which I applied in the real world."

McConnell commended Campano on his recent accolades. "It comes as no surprise that Paul would be successful. He was an outstanding worker and a committed team member who was most concerned about his team's success. His loyalty to our program since his playing days has also been greatly appreciated."

Suffolk University Director of Athletics, James Nelson also praised Campano for his past and present accomplishments.  "The Suffolk University Athletic Community congratulates Paul on his deserved "New Leader" recognition. Paul's noted work ethic in both the classroom and on the baseball diamond while a student-athlete a decade ago for our University made us proud but not surprised of this honor."
