Golf Takes Emmanuel College Tri-Match

The Suffolk University men's golf team combined to shoot a 326 to post the low team score Tuesday afternoon in a tri-match vs. Emmanuel College and Newbury College at the William J. Devine (Franklin Park) Golf Course. Newbury was only ten strokes back with a team score of 336 while Emmanuel rounded out the group with a combined total of 342.

Freshman Guillermo Quirch (Miami, Fla.) of Suffolk fired away the low round of the afternoon, posting a 78 for the Rams while his teammate, senior Alex Toma (San Diego, Calif.) was just a stroke behind him with a 79 to pace the squad.

For the Nighthawks, freshman Steve Peltier (Dalton, Mass.) shot the low round for his team, carding a 79 while freshman David Hart (Keene. N.H.) had the second-low round on the squad with an 83.

Emmanuel was paced by its one-two combo of freshman Michael Burgess (Milton, Mass.) and sophomore Ben Taylor (Newbury, Mass.). Taylor fired away an 81 while Burgess was just a stroke behind him with an 82.
