    The Suffolk’s men’s hockey team rallied off three goals in the second-period to hold off Wentworth 5-2 on Saturday night inside Emmons Horrigan O’Neil Memorial Rink.

    The Suffolk men’s hockey team took an early lead, but could not hold off a two-goal second-period by Wentworth and the Leopards went on to hold on to the advantage and skate away with a 2-1 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) victory Friday night at Allied Veterans Rink.

    Suffolk men’s hockey will skate for the final time in 2017 this weekend as the Rams are set for a home-and-home series with Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) counterpart Wentworth. The Rams visit the Leopards at Allied Veterans Memorial Rink Friday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m., before hosting Wentworth at Emmons Horrigan O’Neil Memorial Rink Saturday, Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Levine Tabbed CCC Goaltender of the Week, Again

    For the third time this season and second time in as many weeks, Suffolk men’s hockey’s Michael Levine has been named Commonwealth Coast Conference’s Goaltender of the Week, the league announced Monday. The recognition comes after a 2-0 week, 76-save week for Levine at the Manchester Pal/Stovepipe Tournament.

    The Suffolk men’s hockey team rallied for an opening round victory in the 2017 Manchester PAL Cup/Stovepipe Tournament hosted by Southern New Hampshire, as the Rams two-goal second period provided the difference in the 3-2 final Saturday at the Ice Den.

    For the second time this season, Michael Levine of the Suffolk men’s hockey team has been tabbed the best netminder over a seven day stretch as the junior was named CCC Goalie of the Week after a 2-0 week in net with 73 saves and 0.50 goals allowed, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

    For the first time in 2001 seasons, Suffolk men’s hockey shutout Western New England, blanking the Golden Bears, 5-0, Saturday afternoon at Olympia Ice Center to sweep the regular season with their its conference counterparts.

    With a day off after taking down the Golden Bears 2-1 Thursday night, Suffolk men’s hockey preps for its Saturday showdown at Western New England. The Rams, who look to sweep their first Commonwealth Coast Conference series of the season, visits Olympia Ice Center in West Springfield, Massachusetts, Nov. 18 for a 3 p.m. puck drop.

The Rams will first visit the Seahawks Friday, Nov. 10 for a 7 p.m. puck drop, before heading to the friendly confines of Emmons Horrigan O’Neil Rink in Charlestown for a Saturday (Nov. 11) showdown at 7:30 p.m.

    Suffolk men’s hockey slipped up in its Commonwealth Coast Conference opener as Nichols took down the Rams 3-0 thanks to a one-goal, one-assist performance by J.B. Baker and a 28-save effort from goaltender Colin Brennan Friday night at Emmons Horrigan O’Neil Rink.

Friday’s game is set for a 7 p.m. puck drop in Charlestown at Emmons Horrigan O’Neil Rink, while Saturday’s showdown sends the blue-and-gold to Harrisville, Rhode Island to battle the Bison at Levy Rink at 7:40 p.m.
