After a record setting fall season in just its second-year as a varsity program, the Suffolk women’s golf team adds more accomplishments to its growing list as the team was recognized for its achievements inside the classroom. As a team, Suffolk brought home Empire 8 Academic Team distinction, while Nicole Antonucci, Brooke Champman and Aine Dillon were all honored on the President’s List, the league office announced Tuesday.
The Suffolk women’s golf team will take the course for the first time in the spring season as the second-year program’s head coach Jay Parker has unveiled its inaugural 2018 Spring Season Schedule Monday afternoon. The slate features three one-day invitational and one two-day event.
Suffolk women’s golf added more accolades to its short history as the Rams hoisted the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Women’s Golf Division III Trophy Monday after a two-day championship tournament at The Captains Golf Course.
The Suffolk women’s golf team is set to close out the fall season this weekend at the NEIGA Championships. The tournament will be held at the Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Massachusetts, and will consist of two rounds on Saturday, Oct. 21 and another round Sunday, Oct. 22.
In its first ever championship and in just the second-year as a varsity program, Suffolk women’s golf put together a runner-up showing at the Empire8 Championship over the weekend at Ballston Spa Country Club hosted by Saint John Fisher.
Women’s golfers across the Empire8 will take the course at the Ballston Spa Country Club in Saratoga, New York, this weekend with Suffolk and its conference counterparts converging in the hopes to capture the conference crown. Over the weekend, the Suffolk women’s golf team took the course at The Orchards Golf Club for the 41st Mt. Holyoke Invitational and two head-to-head matches with Westfield State. The Rams finished 14th at the invite and took down the Owls on Saturday and Sunday by scores of 399-457 and 370-425, respectively.

The 2017 season opener for Suffolk women’s golf will dual as a historic day for Suffolk Athletics as the Rams will hosts its first-ever women’s golf match Sunday, Sept. 10 at Brookmeadow Country Club in Canton, Massachusetts, versus Rhode Island College. Tee time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
