Women's Soccer Duo Named All-Conference Selections By GNAC

Two Suffolk University Women's Soccer players were selected to the 2012 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference teams. Junior Gabrielle Balestrier (Mohnton, Pa.) was a second-team selection at forward, while junior Meghan McHale (Halifax, Mass.) earned a third-team selection at forward.

Balestrier finished the season with eight goals and eight assists for a total of 24 points as she started all 17 games for Suffolk. She had the game-winning goal in four of the Rams' six victories on the season, three of which were in 1-0 Suffolk victories. Balestrier's four game-winners were second most in the GNAC, while she finished tied for second in assists, seventh in points was ranked tied for ninth in goals scored. In 50 career games, Balestrier has accumulated 74 points, scoring 25 goals and adding 24 assists with eight game-winning goals. She was named 2010 GNAC Rookie of the Year and also a first-team All-Conference selection as she scored 15 goals and added 13 assists for 43 points. She was also a second-team All-Conference selection as a sophomore.

McHale started all 17 games for the Rams as she netted three goals and added an assist for a total of seven points. It is the third time in her career that she has been named an All-Conference selection by the GNAC. In 51 career games, McHale has tallied 33 points on nine goals and 15 assists.
