Suffolk University Women's Soccer senior Taylor Miranda (Smithtown, N.Y.) earned multiple conference honors for her play last week as she scored five goals and added two assists in a pair of Rams' wins. Miranda was tabbed Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week, and was then selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Corvais Player of the Week in Women's Soccer.
Miranda netted Suffolk's two goals in their 2-1 victory over Johnson & Wales University last Wednesday and then played a part in all five Rams' goals in a 5-0 victory over Norwich University on Saturday. Miranda recorded her fourth career hat trick in the win over the Cadets bringing her season total nine, while also adding two assists in the game.
Miranda currently ranks third among all GNAC players with her nine tallies and is second in the league with four game-winning goals.
Suffolk has now won four of their last six GNAC contests bring their record to 5-3 in conference play and 5-8 overall in 2013. Seven on Miranda's nine goals on the year have come within their last six contests.
The Rams will be back on the soccer pitch on Thursday afternoon as they host the Lasell College Lasers at 4:00pm over at Dilboy Stadium in Somerville.
