BOSTON – The Suffolk women's soccer 11th season is comprised of 17 overall contests with 10 road tests and seven games on the friendly confines of East Boston Memorial Park's pitch.
The action gets underway Labor Day weekend Sunday, Sept. 3 at Rhode Island College before the Rams open both their home and GNAC campaign versus the Falcons of Albertus Magnus Saturday, Sept. 9.
A three-game road stretch ensues from there with stops at Wheelock (Sept. 12), Lesley (14) and conference newcomer Regis (Sept. 16).
A midweek match in Eastie with the Simmons Sharks Wednesday, Sept. 20, which precedes a visit to Mount Ida Saturday, Sept. 23.
Suffolk ends September with back-to-back home contests as the Rams entertain Lasell (Sept. 27) and Norwich (Sept. 30).
The majority of October will be spent away from home with trips to Anna Maria (Oct. 4) and St. Joseph (Conn.) (Oct. 7) opening the second month of action.
After Johnson & Wales pays the Rams a visit Wednesday, Oct. 11, Suffolk entertains Rivier Saturday, Oct. 14 in the third annual Fan Fest and Senior Day before heading back on the road.
Suffolk will adventure on its second three-game road swing of the season as it travels to Pine Manor (Oct. 16), Emmanuel (Oct. 18) and closes out its conference campaign at Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Oct. 21), before wrapping up the regular season under the Eastie light Monday, Oct. 23 versus Mass. Maritime.
Darren Lloyd looks to lead the Rams back to the GNAC post season tournament for the second straight season. The three-year head coach welcomes back a veteran staff after only graduating one senior from last season. Highlighting the returners is All-GNAC First-Team and GNAC All-Tournament Team selection Jennifer Martin, and all-league second teamer Alexandra Nagri, who both served as captains a year ago and ranked among the conference best offensively. Nagri ranked third in the league in both goals (19) and points (44), while Martin sat fifth in each category (16 goals, 34 points) amongst conference counterparts. Both keepers in Jordan Pettograsso and Kirsten Weiker are also coming back for their junior and sophomore years, respectively.
