BOSTON – A 25-game regular-season slate awaits the 72nd Suffolk men's basketball team as fourth-year head coach Jeff Juron unveiled the official 2018-19 Rams' schedule Thursday afternoon.
Ram Nation will have the chance to see the blue-and-gold in person a handful of times over the course of 2018-19 with 10 games set to be played on the friendly confines of the Larry E. Smith & Michael S. Smith Court inside Regan Gymnasium.
Action will actually tip-off on Suffolk's home hardwood for the second season as Salve Regina visits Boston Saturday, Nov. 10.
A mid-week pit stop at Brandeis Wednesday, Nov. 14 precedes the Babson Invitational Nov. 17-18. The Rams will take on Endicott in the opening round Saturday, Nov. 17 and will either face the tournament host Babson or UMaine Farmington the next day.
A home tilt against Boston Common neighbor Emerson is on the calendar to close out the first month of action Tuesday, Nov. 27.
Suffolk hits the road to get December action going. A Saturday, Dec. 1 showdown at Framingham State serves as final prep for conference competition with the Rams lifting the lid on their GNAC campaign at Lasell Tuesday, Dec. 4. The road stretch ends Saturday, Dec. 8 at Lesley.
The Rams will play in front of their home crowd for the final time in first semester action Tuesday, Dec. 11 when they entertain Roger Williams.
Before celebrating the New Year, Suffolk will journey down south for the Naples Shootout Dec. 29-30. Over the two-day stretch, the Rams will take on Luther (Dec. 29) and Wells (Dec. 30) to cap off the first half it their schedule.
Its right back to business after the holiday as Suffolk makes the short trip across town to UMass Boston Thursday, Jan. 3. Back-to-back home conference clashes with Regis and Johnson & Wales on tap Wednesday, Jan. 9 and Saturday, Jan. 12, respectively.
Suffolk steps out of conference competition Monday, Jan. 14 when it visits Western New England, before returning to league play at Anna Maria (Jan. 17). The Rams wrap up a three-game road swing at Regis Tuesday, Jan. 22.
A trek to Saint Joseph's (Maine) Wednesday, Jan. 30 breaks up a homestand for Suffolk, which will see St. Joseph (Conn.) (Jan. 24), Norwich (Jan. 26), Colby Sawyer (Feb. 2) and Emmanuel (Feb. 5) stop by the Ridgeway Building.
See-saw action of away and home contests cap off the regular-season with the Rams visiting Rivier (Feb. 9) and Albertus (Feb. 16) and hosting Lasell (Feb. 12).
Juron's Rams are equipped with all five everyday starters from last season's squad that posted the most victories in a decade and reached the GNAC semifinals for just the fourth time in program history and first since 2007. The trio of all-league selections from last season in Suffolk's leading scorer Thomas Duffy, reigning GNAC Rookie of the Year Brendan Mulson and Michael Hagopian all look to lead the Rams to the conference crown.
