Baseball Trio Played in 49th NEIBA Joe Walsh All-Star Game

HARTFORD, Conn. – Jonny GilbrideHarry Painter and Garret Roberts represented Suffolk baseball at the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) Joe Walsh All-Star Game yesterday, Monday, at Dunkin Donuts Park.

The trio played on the 'College Division' team comprised of Division II and Division III players that competed against the 'University Division' squad, made up of Division I student-athletes.

It is the first time since 2018 that a Suffolk player was selected to represent the Rams with the threesome joining an elite group of standout student-athletes, who have donned the blue-and-gold on the NEIBA All-Star diamond. The all-All-CCC performers follow in the footsteps of Brady Chant (2018), Matthew Brenner (2017), Chuck Gibson (2017) and 2013 selection Mike Cunningham. The three selections in a single season are the most for Suffolk in the last decade, while six of the seven honorees dating back to 2013 have come under Anthony Del Prete era.

Prior to first pitch of the 49th edition regional all-star game, former Mutts head coach and Suffolk University alum, the late Joe Walsh '76 was recognized as one of the members of the NEIBA Hall of Fame Class of 2024, along with All-Region award winners.
