BOSTON – Suffolk baseball has four games over the next three days. Action gets underway with a twinbill at Wentworth Patriots Day, Monday, April 21 with No. 3/4 Endicott set to stop by Eastie Tuesday, April 22 and a non-conference outing at Salem State on Wednesday, April 23 to wrap up the stretch.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk's baseball's bats produced 16 hits, five for extra bases including two grand slams, to take down Curry, 18-3, in seven innings, in the second game of a Conference of New England (CNE) double feature Saturday at Jack Valley Diamond.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk has rattled off three wins in a row to take a 10-17 overall mark and 3-5 CNE ledger into the week.  

The duo of Max Martin and Max Iorio have led the Rams offense as of late with 20-plus hits and 20-plus RBI to their credit. Max Martin has 25 hits, a team-best 22 RBI and 14 runs scored, while Iorio holds 24 hits, 20 RBI and 19 runs scored. Chris Cimino has produced a team-high 28 hits with 14 RBI and 15 runs scored. Colin Flynn is swift on the base paths with nine stolen bases. He has added 25 hits, 12 runs and seven RBI. 

TJ Dimitriou (26.1 IP, 4.44 ERA, 17 K) is the most well-rested started for Suffolk's staff. Harry Meehan (28.0 IP, 5.14 ERA, 17 K) will likely get the nod earlier in the week before the Rams' rotation gets reset with Nolan Drew (11.1 IP, 9 K) and John McDevitt (10.1 IP, 10 K) options as the week goes on.  

LEOPARDS LOOK
Wentworth was swept by Western New England over the weekend to move to 9-17 on the year and 3-6 in CNE play.  

Devon Lapierre (23 H, 23 R), A.T. DiPina (35 H, 19 RBI, 13 R) and Matthew Favazzo (37 H, 32 RBI, 20 R) are the top three threats at bat for the Leopards. Lapierre is hitting .426 and is swift on the base paths with 18 stolen bases. 

Nigel Cross (45.0 IP, 3.20 ERA, 36 K) and Cooper Smith (8.0 IP, 9.00 ERA, 13 K) are the most well-rested starting pitchers for WIT. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk holds a 21-4 series advantage over the cross city foes, dating back to 1990. 
  • The Rams have won five games in a row against the Leopards. 
  • The blue-and-gold is 7-1 versus Wentworth under Anthony Del Prete's leadership. 
  • As the home team, Suffolk is 12-2 against WIT. 
  • The Rams are unbeaten, 5-0, in Eastie versus the Leopards.
  • On the road, the Rams sport a 6-2 mark against WIT. 
  • The foes have met at a neutral site three times. Suffolk won all of those meetings.

GET TO KNOW THE GULLS
Endicott has won 17 games in a row to sit 25-3 on the year and 11-0 in CNE action. Prior to taking on Suffolk Tuesday, the Gulls will host Johnson & Wales Monday.  

The Gulls offense has produced 331 runs through 27 games. Danny MacDougall (45 H, 29 RBI, 44 R) and Joey Frammartino (47 H, 37 RBI, 31) are the top two bats. The latter hits .420, while the former is batting .391.

Endicott cycled through numerous arms at Hartford over the weekend. Kyan Bagshaw (11.0 IP, 15 K, 8.18 ERA) is the most well-rested starter heading into the week for the Gulls.  

WE MEET AGAIN
Suffolk baseball was stumped by No. 4/6 Endicott, 23-4, in seven innings in Conference of New England (CNE) action Tuesday afternoon at North Field.

Salem State went 1-for-2 in a three-game series with Mass. Maritime over the weekend to bring a 10-14 overall record into the week, that opens with a doubleheader at Framingham State Monday.  

Nolan Currier has contributed 28 hits, 28 RBI and 14 hits to the Vikings 145-run offense. Connor Dolan (23 H, 12 RBI, 12 R) and Owen Duggan (25 H, 12 RBI, 11 R) have been consistent contributors on the offense end as well. 

SSU's rotation may likely start over by the time it faces Suffolk on Wednesday with Cam Fisher (32.1 IP, 16 K, 8.35 ERA), Nick Bamforth (27.2 IP, 21 K, 8.78 ERA), Nolan Currier (15.2 IP, 14 K, 8.62 ERA) and Aidan Carabello (28.1 IP, 11 K, 6.99 ERA) all possible options.
