Baseball Trio Tabbed All-CNE Third-Team

BEVELRY, Mass. – Suffolk baseball saw Max MartinPierce Salbego and Jack Raimo collect All-Conference of New England Third-Team distinction, the league office unveiled Wednesday. The recognitions are a first for the triad in their collegiate careers.

The group pushed Suffolk to its fifth CNE postseason trip in as many years in the league with a 7-9 CNE record. Overall, the Rams finished the year 14-25.

Martin backstopped Suffolk in all, but two of the squad's 39 games and had a near perfect fielding percentage with a .987 clip in 231 total chances to go along with 20 runners caught stealing. The transfer student from Walpole, Massachusetts, had the hottest bat in the Rams' line-up with squad-best 43 hits including 15 for extra bases with nine doubles, one triple and five dingers. Both this RBI (30) and runs scored (26) sat atop to the team as well.

Salbego was Suffolk's ace on the rubber all-season. The right-handed hurler assembled a 3.80 ERA over 68.2 innings pitched in 10 appearances, all starts, with three complete games. The Plainfield, Illinois, product fanned a staff-best 55 batters.

Raimo, a junior that calls Reading, Massachusetts home, meanwhile, was Suffolk's go-to reliever. The righty came out of the pen 16 times and worked 28.2 innings of relief in which he put together a 4.08 ERA with 11 strikeouts.

On top of the all-conference honors, senior first baseman Cole Hilliard was awarded a spot on the CNE Community Service Team, which recognizes student-athletes on every member institution's squad that demonstrates a commitment to their community.

Since joining the CCC in 2021, Suffolk has collected 29 all-league honors including one Player of the Year, four first-team, 12 second-team, 11 third-team and one Team Sportsmanship.
