BOSTON – TJ Dimitriou of the Suffolk baseball team was selected to the D3Baseball.com Summer Honor.

Dimitriou, a rising senior from Norwood, Massachusetts, took the hill for the Florence Flamingos of the Coastal Plain League this summer. He had a hiccup of a first outing with four runs allowed on seven hits through 2.0 innings of work, but calmed down from there, as he limited the opposition to no earned runs allowed in his next and final four outings. Through five games played, 11.0 innings of work, he assembled a 3.27 ERA on the year with five strikeouts to his credit.

The Florence Flamingos are an amateur baseball team that plays in Florence, South Carolina as part of the Coastal Plain League, the collegiate wooden-bat summer baseball league located in the American Southeast.

Prior to lacing up for the Flamingos, Dimitriou stayed local in the Bay State and competed for the Palmer Club of the Boston Park League, the oldest amateur baseball league in Boston. He put together a 0.969 ERA with three earned runs allowed in 21.2 innings of action in six games en route to a 1-1-0 record. The left-handed pitcher's stat line featured 16 strikeouts, 16 hits allowed and just a pair of walks.
