MEDFORD, Mass. – Suffolk baseball's bats never got going and Tufts' early advantage turned into a 10-0, seven-inning Rams setback Saturday afternoon at Sol Gittleman Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Similar to game open, Tufts started the scoring in the bottom of the second and put up four runs to force the Rams play catch up. 
  • The Jumbos added another run in the bottom of the third. Gavin Lind led off with a double to left center and Caden Abraham's single to center put runners in the corners. Harry Meehan successfully picked off Abraham at first, put Lind took advantage and strutted in to lengthen the gap to five.  
  • The score stayed there until the bottom of the seventh when the Jumbos put up five more behind six walks and two hits for the 10-0 final. 

PITCHERS PICTURE

  • Meehan let up five runs, three earned, on seven hits and five walks with four strikeouts over 3.0 innings of work. 
  • Ben Cassavoy (2.0 IP,1. H, 2 BB, 2 K) and Nolan Drew (1.0 IP, 1 BB, 1 K) were solid out of the pen for Suffolk. 
  • Cam Martin (0.2 IP, 5 R, 2 H, 6 BB, 1 K) also came in in relief for the Rams. 
  • Cole Donato earned the decision as he compiled a three-hit, five-walk, seven-strikeout performance over 6.0 innings. 
  • Mitchell Hwang shoved 1.0 inning of scoreless relief with one punchout.
