BOSTON – After three games on the road, the Suffolk men's basketball team is back in the friendly confines of Regan Gymnasium Saturday, Jan. 27 as the Rams entertain Mt. Ida. Tip-off is scheduled at 3 p.m., following the women's contest against Saint Joseph's (Maine) at 1 p.m.

For the fourth time this season, Suffolk's basketball teams will take part in a double feature. The women's team gets the action going at 1 p.m. versus GNAC powerhouse Saint Joseph's (Maine) with the men's team capping the action off at 3 p.m. against Mount Ida.
Both teams are 3-0 when playing on the same day inside Regan Gymnasium this season.
LAST TIME OUT
Brendan Mulson put together his second collegiate double-double to anchor the Suffolk men's basketball team to a 59-45 victory over Boston and GNAC Emmanuel Thursday night at Jean Yawkey Court.
Suffolk secured its second straight road win, a 59-45 victory at Boston and GNAC rival Emmanuel Thursday night, to cap off a three-game road swing and head into the weekend 10-7 overall and 5-3 in conference contests.
Brandon Mulson has heated up as of late as the freshman has put together back-to-back 20-point performances to be one of three Rams producing double figures this season. The rookie, who puts in 11.8 ppg, is joined by Thomas Duffy and Michael Hagopian as the sophomore and junior lead the way with 14.9 ppg and 14.6 ppg, respectively.
Defensively, Mulson's 6.0 rpg paces the pack. Kevin Querusio chips in 4.4 rpg with Hagopian adding 4.0 rpg.
As a team, the Rams are putting in 69.9 ppg, on a 44.9 connection rate from the field and a 38.5 percentage from long range. On the glass, the blue-and-gold brings down 32.8 ppg.
Mount Ida enters Saturday coming off a 102-81 setback to Johnson & Wales that put the Mustangs at 9-9 on the season and 3-6 in league play.
Mt. Ida's conference-best 83.7 ppg is led by a trio of Mustangs in double digits. Joey DeFillippi leads the way with 13.9 ppg with Errald Jordine (11.4 ppg) and Kevin Vanderhorst (11.0 ppg) rounding out the threesome. Jayason Clark, who is on the verge of hitting his 1,000-point milestone (9.6 ppg) and John Oliver (9.3 ppg) are on the cusp of double figures as well.
Vanderhorst's 8.2 rpg leads the way on the glass for Mt. Ida. Jordine pitches in 6.4 rpg with DeFillippi pulling down 4.1 rpg.
INSIDE THE SERIES
After slipping in both regular season meetings last season to Mount Ida, Suffolk trails the all-time series with the Mustangs, 7-11.
THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME
Suffolk is unbeaten in front of its home crowd this season, earning seven of its 10 wins in Regan Gymnasium; Brandeis (75-67), Saint Joseph's (Maine) (68-56), Lesley (61-46), UMass Boston (79-69), Framingham State (93-66), Norwich (83-66) and Emmanuel (73-69).
The Rams are outscoring their opponents, 76.0-62.7, when playing on the friendly confines of the Larry E. Smith and Michael S. Smith court thanks to a 48.5 field goal percentage at home.
WHERE WE STAND
At 5-3 in conference play, Suffolk currently sits in a tie for fifth place in the conference standings with Saint Joseph's (Maine).
The undefeated Falcons of Albertus Magnus (10-0) are atop the standings, with Johnson & Wales and Lasell rounding out the top three with the Wildcats and Lasers each owning 6-2 league ledgers.
Suffolk coupled back-to-back road wins together as the Rams defeated Norwich (74-59) and Emmanuel (59-45).
The last time the Rams defeated two opponents in consecutive road contests on the road was at the homes' of the Cadets (83-77) and the Rivier Raiders (73-68) Jan. 15, 18, 2014.
