BOSTON – Behind its winningest season since 2001-02, the Suffolk men's basketball team will make its sixth straight trip to the GNAC Men's Basketball Tournament as the sixth seed, the league office announced. 

The Rams look to add more noteworthy highlights to a season that is already the most successful in nearly two decades with a 14-11 overall record and a 9-7 league ledger, which marks the most conference triumphs since 2005-06 (9-9).   

In his third season on Suffolk's bench, Jeff Juron has led the Rams to their highest seeding in the tournament field since 2013, when they were seeded sixth. Overall, Suffolk has 14 appearances to the league's postseason, six straight, with three trips the semis and just one championship run in 2002 when the Rams hoisted the conference trophy for the first and only time. As the sixth seed, Suffolk has advanced to the semifinals just once in 2001. 

The quarterfinals sends Suffolk up to Standish, Maine, Tuesday, Feb. 20 for a match with Saint Joseph's (Maine), who locked up the third seed thanks to an 11-5 league ledger and a 16-9 overall mark. 

Suffolk hosted the Monks in Boston in the regular season Dec. 2. The Rams overcame a 16-point half-time deficit to take down SJC, 68-56, to lift the lid on their league slate. Overall, Suffolk trails the all-time series with the Monks 5-26. 

In the tournament Suffolk and St. Joe's have met just once before in 2014. In an identical seeding showdown, the Monks ended the Rams season, 80-72. 

The four winners from Tuesday night will advance to the semis Thursday with the two victors competing for the championship Saturday, Feb. 24.
