BOSTON – For the third straight season, Suffolk men's golf will be led by a sole captain as Cameron Sinopoli was handed the reigns as the Rams' leader by head coach Ed McMellen.
Sinopoli is the third-ever captain of the men's golf program during McMellen's tenure and the youngest ever to earn the role in the last 20 years as William Bannon and Elias Sachs each had the title as seniors in 2019-20 and 2018-19, respectively.
The Marlborough, Massachusetts, native burst out on the collegiate course in a COVID condensed season a year ago. In the first competition of his collegiate career, the Suffolk Invite April 3, 2021, he garnered individualist medalist honors before finishing as the runner-up five days later at the Endicott Invite. At the CCC Championships, he placed 22nd in the field of 39 over the two-day event to aid in Suffolk's seventh place performance.
Sinopoli looks to build upon those scores as he enters his sophomore season, one which the Rams are scheduled to participate in three events and the CCC Qualifier this fall.
Action commences for the blue-and-gold this weekend when the Rams venture to Middlebury, Vermont for the two-day Duke Nelson Invitational.
