BOSTON – Suffolk men's golf seniors Christopher Sinopoli and Trey Connolly will share leadership responsibilities for the 2025-26 season, head coach Joshua Brickley announced Sinopoli will serve as the squad's captain, while Connolly earned the assistant captain role.
It is the second straight season that the Rams will have a pair of players in the leadership position following the first-ever known duo to split the captain duties in Vijay Sakuru and Jake Zirlin, who did so a year ago. It is the first time that the titles were divided between captain and assistant.
Sinopoli has been a staple in Suffolk's line-up throughout his collegiate career. The Marlborough, Massachusetts, product had a standout sophomore season in 2023-24 that cumulated in an all-conference nod.
Connolly, who hails from Framingham, Massachusetts, joined the Rams ranks in 2023-24, competed for the first time in his collegiate career a year ago. His team first attitude on and off the green led to a spot on the Conference of New England (CNE) Community Service Team.
The two look to lead the Rams to their first-ever CNE Crown, which is up for grabs Oct. 4-5 at Tumble Brook in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Suffolk will have just one outing to prep for the league championship, the season debut, the St. Lawrence Invitational, Sept. 6-7, at the Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course in Canton, New York.
