BOSTON – For the first time in Suffolk men's hockey history, the Rams will take the ice at historic Fenway Park at Thursday, Jan. 5 for a one-hour practice as part of the Capital One Frozen Fenway 2017.
Capital One Frozen Fenway 2017 is a two-week series of hockey and ice skating events from January 3-16, 2017, that showcase Fenway Sports Group's commitment to bringing unique, world class events to historic Fenway Park and the residents of Boston. The 14-day stretch at Fenway Park will feature a pair of Hockey East doubleheaders, men's and women's Division III matchups and seven high school games.
Also included in the lineup is Women's and Girls Hockey Day, featuring a Girls Youth Clinic conducted by Massachusetts Hockey and the Boston Pride and game between Harvard and Boston College Women's Hockey teams. Net tickets proceeds for the Women's and Girls Hockey Day will benefit The Denna Laing Fund, which supports the recovery of the Boston Pride player who sustained a significant spinal cord injury during the Outdoor Women's Classic at Gillette Stadium in 2015.
The Rams' chance to skate at the home of the Boston Red Sox comes two days before they lift the lid on the 2017 portion of its schedule against Franklin Pierce at Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Rink in Charlestown. The squad, which includes 14 Massachusetts natives, will run through skills and drills at the iconic stadium from 9-10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5.
