BOSTON – The Suffolk men's soccer remains in the hunt for its first victory of the season and looks to get the job done Wednesday, Sept. 5 as the Rams travel to Plymouth State for a non-conference battle. Game time is set for 5 p.m.

Framingham State broke a 2-2 tie in the 95th minute to steal Suffolk men's soccer's home opener by a 3-2 margin Monday afternoon at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park.

Suffolk slipped in both outings over Labor Day weekend to sit at 0-2 on the young season.
Each of the Rams goals have come off a different set of cleats as freshman Leonardo Acosta and sophomores Declan Mee and Tucker Mee have each found the back of the netting for the blue-and-gold. To go along with his goal, Acosta dished out one assist to lead all Suffolk point scorers. Alex Desaulnier has also notched one point this season with one helper to his credit.
David Haines has maintained all net minding responsibilities through each of Suffolk's two outings. The senior keeper boasts a .773 save percentage with a 2.37 goals against average.
In its two opening contests of 2018 Plymouth State needed extra time to decide an outcome. In the season opener at Johnson & Wales, the Panthers came up short in a double overtime one-goal game and three days later played New England College to a double overtime 3-3 tie. After opening weekend, PSU sits 0-1-1 on the year.
Dan Shaw, Joni Hongisto and Nate Roberts each scored one goal for the Panthers with Shaw's three-point stat line, which also features one assist, leading PSU's offensive unit. Erik Armskog has set up two shots to add to the offensive.
In net, Plymouth has used Linus Lindeberg is back-to-back outings. The sophomore brings in a .765 save percentage and a 1.64 goals against average.

Suffolk and Plymouth State will meet for the first time.
Suffolk will turn its attention to conference competition as the GNAC portion of the Rams schedule begins Saturday, Sept. 8 against Rivier. First kick at East Boston Memorial Park's James A. Sartori Stadium is scheduled for 12 p.m.
