After enjoying its most successful season in over a decade, the Suffolk men’s soccer team had five student-athletes named to the All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) teams, the league office announced Wednesday morning. Jack Phelps, Tommy Handelsman and Xander Balog earned spots on the second team, while Brady Sorensen and Carter Van Buskirk picked up third-team status.
Suffolk men’s soccer had it all Wednesday night, stealthy offense, with two goals in a 10-minute span, spread out over each half, unmatched defense and perfect goaltending from Xander Balog to upset the nationally ranked, Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) tournament top-seed, No. 23 Endicott, 2-0, at North Field. The victory sends the Rams to the CCC Championship for the first time in program history.
The Suffolk men’s soccer team continues its quest for the 2022 Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship as the fourth-seeded Rams head to regular-season champion, top-seed, No. 23 Endicott Wednesday, Nov. 2. The semifinal showdown is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start at Hempstead Stadium.
A Saturday, Oct. 8 showdown at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park pits Suffolk men’s soccer versus the University of New England. The Commonwealth Coast Conference clash is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m., following a Senior Day celebration that will honor the playing careers of its four graduating players – Trevor Murdock, Elias Parreira, Dai Podziewski and Kyle Rosa.
Suffolk men’s soccer has a heavy-hitting test on tap Tuesday, Oct. 4 when the Rams take their talents to No. 15 Babson. First kick at Hartwell-Rogers Field is on tap for 3:30 p.m.
Suffolk men's soccer picked up their first win in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 victory versus Endicott. The win came thanks to Matthew Belluardo’s first collegiate goal and marks the Rams second consecutive 1-0 scoresheet.
