For the second time this season, Francisco Valck of the Suffolk men’s soccer team was named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week after producing one game-winning goal and two assists in a 2-0-0 week for the Rams, the league office announced.
On its longest win streak since 2006, Suffolk men’s soccer takes its talents to Newton Monday, Oct. 2 to face Boston College at 5:30 p.m. at the Newton Soccer Complex.
A pair of goals in a four-minute span late in the first frame proved to be the difference, as Suffolk men’s soccer defeated Hartford, 2-1, Saturday afternoon at Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium. The win extended the Rams win streak to five, its longest since 2006.
In the midst of a three-game road trip, Suffolk men’s soccer travels to Hartford Saturday, Sept. 30 for a 3 p.m. outing. Although the Rams and Hawks are both members of the CCC, Saturday’s action will not count towards either team’s conference records due to Hartford reclassifying as a Division III institution.
With 31 seconds remaining in regulation, Francisco Valck’s header off TJ Maselek’s throw-in broke up a tied game and sent Suffolk men’s soccer past MIT, 3-2, Wednesday at Roberts Field.
