BEVERLY, Mass. – Francisco Valck of the Suffolk men's soccer team collected Conference of New England (CNE) Offensive Player of the Week after a two-goal, four-point effort that helped the Rams start the season 1-0-1, the league office announced.
Valck matched a career-high effort in the season debut, a 4-1 victory over Emmanuel, August 30 and had four shots in the 0-0 draw at Brandeis.
Thanks to Valck's help, Suffolk is unbeaten through two games for the the fourth straight season.
The weekly award marks the first time the sophomore from Weston, Florida, was tabbed the conference's best player over a seven-day stretch. A year ago, he scooped up rookie of the week, twice. It is the first CNE Offensive Player of the Week honor for Suffolk's squad Diego Pierantozzi was named the conference's offensive player of the week Sept. 25, 2023.
Valck and the Rams return to action tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 4 at No. 2 Amherst at 7:00 p.m.
