Harlow, Mehaya Grab CNE Weekly Awards, Again

CNE RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – It was a case of déjà vu in Conference of New England (CNE) weekly awards for Suffolk men's soccer as Nathan Harlow was named CNE Defensive Player of the Week and Mohamed Mehaya was tabbed CNE Rookie of the Week, in the same weekly for the second time this season, first since Sept. 15. The awards come on the heels of a 2-0-0 week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Mehaya factored into both of the blue-and-gold triumphs. The forward potted both Rams' goals in a 2-1 comeback win at MIT Wednesday. Three days later, he assisted on half of Suffolk's strikes in the 4-0 shutout of conference counterpart Curry. Over the seven-day span, the East Boston, Massachusetts native rewrote personal-best in points (4) and goals scored (2) against the Engineers and dished out a career-high two helpers versus the Colonels. The freshman has produced a point in back-to-back battles and six of the last seven to become the first Suffolk player with multiple weekly rookie of the week nods since Francisco Valck collected a pair in 2023.

Harlow, meanwhile, was the backbone of Suffolk's 4-0 clean sheet against Curry. The London, England, product turned aside a season-best seven shots to lock up the shutout, his third of the season en route to his fifth collegiate weekly accolade, second of the season.

Suffolk looks to keep its winning ways going Tuesday, Sept. 30 when it resumes its halted game against Dean. The game picks up where it left off Aug. 29 tomorrow at 7 p.m. at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park.
