Harlow, Mehaya Secure Pair of CNE Weekly Awards

CNE RELEASE

BEVERLY, MASS. – Suffolk men's soccer collected another round of Conference of New England (CNE) weekly honors as Nathan Harlow was named CNE Defensive Player of the Week and Mohamed Mehaya earned CNE Rookie of the Week recognition, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Harlow earned his third CNE Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season after leading the Rams to consecutive shutouts in a 2-0-0 week. He made two saves in a 2-0 win at the University of New England before recording six stops in a 3-0 victory over Gordon. The junior matched a season-best three career CNE weekly awards after earning two defensive and one rookie nod in 2023. The London, England native became the first player to be named defensive Ppayer of the week three times in a season since Xander Balog accomplished the feat in 2022.

Mehaya picked up his fourth CNE Rookie of the Week accolade of the season after continuing his standout rookie campaign. He found the back of the net against UNE and dished out one assist in the win over Gordon, which handed the Fighting Scots just their second conference loss of the year. The East Boston, Massachusetts product leads the CNE in points (26) and goals (10) and now holds the program record for most conference weekly honors in a single season.

As a team, Suffolk has earned a program-record eight weekly awards this season, surpassing the previous mark of seven set in both 2023 and 2016. Mehaya is responsible for half (4) and Harlow has three on his resume. Francisco Valck rounds out the group with a CNE Offensive Player of the Week distinction Oct. 6.

The Rams, winners of seven of their last eight, return to action at home on Wednesday, Oct. 22, when they host first place Johnson & Wales in a key league matchup. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park.
