New Haven, CT - The Suffolk University Men's Tennis team (6-3, 3-1 GNAC) were victorious on Saturday shutting out the Albertus Magnus Falcons (4-4, 0-3 GNAC) by a match score of 9-0. The Rams now finish GNAC regular season play with a 3-1 record and finish in second place.
Freshman Christopher Staley (London, England) picked up his first win of the season in the number one position for the Rams as he defeated Albertus' Jonathan Fetzner, 6-1, 6-1. The win now gives Staley six on the season. Sophomore Justin Ayoub (Brooklyn, NY) picked up his team leading seventh win of the season as he was victorious in the three spot. Ayoub has been perfect in that position moving to 4-0 on the year there. Sophomore Michael Demoranville (Somerset, MA) picked up his first win of the year as he was victorious, 6-0, 6-1 in the number six spot for the Rams. Junior Jared Orkin (Newton, MA) and senior Garrett Freeman (Beacon, NY) and Greg Garrison (Beacon, NY) were also winners in singles play for the Rams.
Staley and partner John Samander move to 4-1 in doubles play, as the duo was victorious 8-2. Freeman partnered with senior Nisarg Patel (Ahemedbad, India)for a win and Orkin and Garrison were also victorious in doubles play.
The Rams are back on the court on Monday as they travel to Curry College. The match is set for a 3:30 pm start time.
