BOSTON – Suffolk's men's tennis' 2020 calendar is built around a 13-match slate over a six-week span, head coach Steve Counihan announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Rams leap right into GNAC action the season and home opener duels as the first conference contest of the year when Albertus Magnus comes to Boston Saturday, March 14. The blue-and-gold remains at home for a Boston battle with Wentworth Thursday, March 19 before heading out on the road for the first time with a trip to Colby Sawyer on the schedule Saturday, March 21.
Its back-and-forth between home and road matches as Suffolk welcomes Rhode Island College Tuesday, March 24 and visits Roger Williams two days later (March 26).
From there, the Rams return to the Bay state to wrap up the first month of play at home against Regis (March 28) and Bridgewater State (March 31).
April begins on the road at UMass Dartmouth (April 2) and Johnson & Wales (April 4).
Home clashes with Salem State (April 9) and Eastern Nazarene (April 15) sandwich a road test at the newest league foe Lesley (April 11) with the regular-season wrapping up at Norwich Monday, April 20.
Counihan welcomes back five Rams from last season's squad that secured three triumphs. Suffolk looks to make its way back in the conference tournament for the 11th time, first since 2017. The blue-and-gold has just one more chance for GNAC glory as the University transitions to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) in 2020-21.
