BELMONT, Mass. – Suffolk men's tennis ended its season on a high note as it swept Curry, 7-0, Saturday night in Conference of New England (CNE) play at Belmont Hill. The triumph was the Rams first of the year.
THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 7 | Curry 0
RECORDS: Suffolk (1-11, 1-8 CNE) | Curry (0-16, 0-9 CNE)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk took the doubles point. The Rams only needed one win in doubles play as the Colonels forfeited court three, but the blue-and-gold managed to take decisions on courts one and two anyways.
The top tandem of Abhi Patel and Mehdi Mered partnerned up for a 6-0 decision over Eric Flynn and Jake Perrotte, before Ishmam Amin and Henry Blanchard took down Maitreya Abend and Nicholas Cirelli by an identical margin.
In singles, Suffolk started with a 2-0 lead as Curry did not have enough players to field the sixth spot.
From there, the Rams cruised to victories on the next five courts for the 7-0 decision.
Sein Kim defeated Leo Katz, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 5.
Blanchard bested Perrotte, 6-0, 6-2, on the third position before Mered handed Flynn a 6-0, 6-2 setback on the top court.
In the second slot, Patel bested Abend, 6-0, 6-4.
Amin posted a golden match over Cirelli in the fourth position to wrap up the outing.
