BOSTON – Suffolk men's indoor track & field hosted the Suffolk Ice Breaker Challenge at the Track at New Balance on Sunday.
Michael Nossek first-place finish in the 200 meter highlighted a balanced Suffolk performance that featured several personal records.
RAMS RUNNERS
- Michael Nossek finished third in the 60 dash at 7.01.
- The 200 was highlighted by Nossek crossing first in 22.34, with Charlie Billard (24.03), Nolan Winslow(24.58), Marco Gomez (25.37), and Brendan Eddy (25.51) also competing.
- In the 400, Mohamed Mehaya led Suffolk with 50.81, followed by Will Manix (51.44), Emmett St. Pierre (53.17), Tighe Hosman (54.09), and Connor Johnson (54.64).
- Mile runners Eric Anderson and Michael Najarian finished in 5:03.44 and 5:18.53, respectively.
- In the 3,000, Matthew Ramarge finished 20th in 9:07.79.
- The 4x400 relay squad of Connor Johnson, Hosman, Gomez, and St. Pierre posted a 3:43.50 to finish 14th.
JUMPERS JIST
- Joshua Catino closed out the pole vault in 11th with a 3.55-meter jump.
- Johnson competed in the long jump, landing 18th at 5.83 meters.
FIELDERS FACTS
- Elijah Brown led the weight throw with a 12.37-meter effort, closely followed by George Mirogiannis at 12.05 meters.
- Connor Brown posted heaved the shot put 10.36 meters as Suffolk's lone competitor in the event.
RAMS RECORDS
- Nossek set a career best 22.34 in the 200.
- St. Pierre posted a personal best 53.17 in the 400.
- Hosman logged a new career high with a 54.09 finish in the 400.
- Brown recorded a personal best 10.36-meter throw in the shot put.
YOU'RE NEW HERE
- Mehaya ran the 400 for the first time in his collegiate career.
- Anderson made his Suffolk debut in the mile.
- Johnson, Gomez, St. Pierre, and Winslow all competed in the 60m dash for the first time.
- Gomez also ran the 400 for the first time.
- Ramarge made his indoor debut in the 3,000.
