Men’s Track & Field Takes Ninth at Tufts Snowflake Classic
Suffolk men’s outdoor track & field opened its 2025 season with a ninth-place performance at the Tufts Snowflake Classic Saturday at Dussault Track in Somerville, Massachusetts.
SOMERVILLE, Mass. – Suffolk men's outdoor track & field opened its 2025 season with a ninth-place performance at the Tufts Snowflake Classic Saturday at Dussault Track in Somerville, Massachusetts.
The ninth-place finish comes behind a combined team 30 points. The host Tufts won the event with 237 points with Bridgewater State (101) and Wentworth (80) rounding out the podium in second and third, respectively.
REGIONAL RAMS
- Michael Makiej punched his ticket to New Englands in the high jump with a 1.90-meter effort.
RAMS RECORDS
- Tighe Hosman broke the Rams record in the 400 hurdles with a time of 58.91.
- Makiej leapt to a school record in the high jump as he cleared 1.90.
RAMS RUNNERS
- Brendan Eddy (12.28) and Micahel Frodelius (12.72) ran the 100 and finished 25th and 32nd, respectively.
- Nathan Fernandes took seventh in the 200 with a 23.51. Eddy also made the half lap around the track in 24.79.
- Fernandes finished eighth in the 400 with a time of 52.66.
- Matthew McGoldrick ran the 800 in 2:19.54, good for 35th.
- Jadan Wenceslao (4:29.12) and Michael Najarian (5:00.36) participated in the 1500.
HAVE TO KNOW 'BOUT THE HURDLERS
- Hosman competed in the 110 and 400 hurdles and finished third in both events. In the 110 he clocked a 16.15 and in the 400 he crossed the tape in 58.91.
THROWERS THOUGHTS
- Elijah Brown claimed sixth in the hammer throw with a 40.49-meter have. Connor Brown (24.01) competed in the event as well.
- Edward Abouzeid clinched fifth in the javelin with a 45.49-meter have.
- Brown participated in the shot put and heaved it 9.16 meters.
JUMPERS JIST
- Makiej secured second in the high jump with a 1.90-meter clearance.
- Nico Carrillo took ninth in the long jump with a 5.88-meter leap. Michael Frodelius (5.35) participated in the event as well.

Suffolk will send Rams to the Colonial Relays this weekend, April 4-5, in Williamsburg, Virigina.
