Track & Field Pair Collects CNE Community Service Team Spots

CNE RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Suffolk men's and women's outdoor track & field teams were represented by one student-athlete each on the Conference of New England (CNE)'s Community Service Team in Tighe Hosman, who was the men's team selection, and Hilma Ortega, who was chosen from the Rams' women's team, the league office announced Tuesday.

The Community Service Team is presented to the student-athlete on each squad that demonstrates a commitment to their community.

Hosman, a sophomore from Merrimack, Massachusetts, competed in a pair of events at the conference championships. He hurdled to a third-team selection in the 400 when he lowered his own program record to 57.23 to take third. He also raced the 110 hurdles and secured seventh with a time of 16.16.

Ortega, meanwhile, competed in three events. The senior that calls North Andover, Massachusetts, home, took fifth in the 100 hurdles (16.11) and ninth in the 100 (13.10) and was a member of the fourth-place 4x100 relay squad.
