Softball Has Two All-Conference Selections

Two Suffolk University Softball players earned All-Conference honors by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) for the 2010 season.

Junior Clara Conklin (Haverhill, N.H.) was a first-team selection as a utility player. Conklin led the Rams in most offensive categories hitting .366 with six home runs and 24 RBI. Conklin drew 15 walks as well at the plate for the Rams, the second most within the league. Her .464 on-base percentage and .624 slugging percentage were both team bests as well. Conklin was named to the GNAC's Weekly Honor Roll on March 26 following her 5-for-5 day against Lasell College in a game that saw her drive in five runs with two doubles and two homers. She hit .443 in conference games this season.

Senior Valerie Liberatore (Chelsea, Mass.) was named to the GNAC's second all-conference team. The center fielder hit .355 with a team-high four triples. Her 15 stolen bases were second most on the team and second highest total within the league. Liberatore also led the team with 39 hits and 24 runs scored on the season. Liberatore got off to a hot start this season as she started the season off with a 14-game hitting streak.
