BOSTON – Suffolk softball was kept off the scoreboard by Emerson, 4-0, in the opening outing of a doubleheader as that Rotch Field Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
All the game's scoring came in the third inning as the Lions leapt ahead 4-0. The offensive output came behind five hits, including two extra base knocks, and one wild pitch.
The Rams' bats were limited to four hits scattered across four innings to suffer the shutout setback.
PITCHERS PICTURE
- Cynthia Rucinski recorded the loss. She let up four runs on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts in 6.0 innings.
- Caleigh Sheehan earned the shutout win with a four-hit, two-walk, nine-strikeout, complete-game effort.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Lily Gustafson went 2-for-2 to be responsible for half of Suffolk's four hits. The senior walked once as well.
- Giavanna Bellino had one hit and one walk.
- Ava Brandow tallied one hit.
