LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk softball bounced back at Wentworth in shutout fashion as the Rams kept the Leopards off the scoreboard in the nightcap behind the pitching of Cynthia Rucinski en route to a 5-0, Sunday afternoon in Conference of New England action at Carr Diamond.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk softball has split its last six doubleheaders to bring a 15-16 overall record into Tuesday's tilt. 

The trio of Catherine Carignan (39 H, 13 RBI, 21 R, 7 SB), Julia Mills (35 H, 17 RBI, 16 R, 8 SB) and Lily Gustafson (30 H, 10 RBI, 15 R) have all supplied 30-plus hits to the Rams' offesnese that has received 20-plus hits from both Lily Newhall's (26 h, 12 RBI, 13 R) and Ava Brandow's (25 H, 11 RBI, 12 R) bats as well.  

Newhall has the most innings under her belt in the circle. In 94.2 frames, the right-handed pitcher has assembled a 2.59 ERA with 43 Ks. Cynthia Rucinski is the other go-to starter for Suffolk on the rubber and brings in a 3.46 ERA and a staff-best 46 strikeouts over 79.0 innings. 

LANCERS LOOK
Worcester State has won seven straight to bring a 17-12 overall mark into the week, which it starts against Salem State Monday.  

Emma Lanpher has a powerful bat with 50 hits, 17 RBI and 30 runs scored to go along with five stolen bases. Emma Lapoint (43 H, 25 RBI, 33 R, 5 SB), Bella Gasbarro (42 H, 19 RBI, 17 R) and Morgan Keefe (44 H, 25 RBI, 17) are usual contributors to the offense as well.  

The Lancers have three twirlers that rotate on the rubber in Peyton Maloney (84.0 IP, 2.92 ERA, 83 K), Sarah Gosselin (56.0 IP, 4.25 ERA, 32 K) and Taylor Coonan (50.0 IP, 3.50 ERA, 19 K).

INSIDE THE SERIES

• Suffolk is unbeaten, 1-0, versus Worcester State all-time.
