BOSTON – Suffolk softball returns to Conference of New England (CNE) play on Sunday, March 29 with a doubleheader against Johnson & Wales at Scots Miracle Gro Athletic Complex set to begin at 12:00 p.m.

Suffolk softball secured Beantown bragging rights as it bested Boston Commons neighbor Emerson, 6-3, Thursday night at Rotch Field.

RAMS RUNDOWN

  • Suffolk enters Sunday with a 10-7 overall record and a 1-1 record in CNE play and is currently riding a four-game winning streak.
  • Jolie Quintana leads the conference in hits with 23, adding 14 runs, five RBI, and four doubles with a .383 average.
  • Julia Mills ranks right behind Quintana with 22 hits, 17 RBI, and 12 runs, hitting .407 with one double and one home run.
  • Ava Lanza sits fifth in the conference with 20 hits, 10 RBI, 12 runs, and two doubles, batting .328.
  • Catherine Carignan has 16 hits, including six doubles and two home runs, driving in 18 runs and batting .281.
  • Lily Newhall contributes both at the plate and in the circle, hitting .333 with 15 hits, 13 RBI, seven extra-base hits (five doubles, two homers), and six runs scored. On the mound, she has a 3.26 ERA over 49.1 innings with 21 strikeouts and five wins. 
  • Cynthia Rucinski tops the CNE in strikeouts by an 18-strikeout margin with 52 through 62.1 innings, posting a 3.93 ERA and 1.72 WHIP.

WILDCATS WATCH

  • Johnson & Wales enters the weekend 6-6 overall and 1-1 in conference after splitting a series with Wentworth last Saturday.
  • Ashley Bergeron leads the Wildcats at .591 with 13 hits, eight RBI, with three triples and two home runs.
  • Mady Lyons is hitting .500 with 19 hits, 11 RBI, and eight doubles.
  • Jessica Forneiro has 10 hits, including one home run, and four RBI.
  • On the mound, Jillian Reed has a 3.53 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 39.2 innings. Madi Wong owns a 2.95 ERA with nine strikeouts in 19 innings, and Brianna Ghilardi has a 6.39 ERA with six strikeouts in 15.1 innings.
