The Suffolk women's basketball team came up short in the Lafrance Hospitality Classic Sunday afternoon as the Rams fell to the tournament's host UMass Dartmouth, 79-64, at Tripp Gymnasium.

Suffolk moved to 3-2 after splitting action at the Lafrance Hospitality Classic prior to Thanksgiving Break.
The sophomore, junior tandem of Jenni-Rose DiCecco and Alexis Hackett have provided a one-two punch on both ends of the hardwood for the blue-and-gold. DiCecco leads the offensive unit with 4.2 apg complimenting her team-high 16.8 ppg. Hackett, meanwhile, holds down the effort on the glass with 12.2 rpg to go along with 2.8 bp and 1.2 spg. Offensively, Hackett adds 13.8 ppg and 3.4 apg, while DiCecco chips in 5.8 rpg and 1.4 spg to the defensive unit. Gabrielle DeComo joins DiCecco and Hackett in double digits in points as the sophomore averages 11.6 ppg.
As a team, Suffolk is putting up 67.8 ppg behind a 39.6 connection rate from the floor, 38.5 percentage from behind-the-arc and is shooting 74.0 percent at the line. The Rams outrebound their foes by a 3.0 margin with 42.0 rpg as a unit.
After dropping the first two games as its season-opening Curry College Tip-Off Tournament, the Colonels have coupled back-to-back wins together to head to Beacon Hill 2-2 on the season.
Curry has relied on a core three in Peyton Perine (15.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg), Amanda Leal (14.3 ppg, 7.8 rpg) and Emily Irwin (14.0 ppg, 5.3 rpg) on both sides of the ball in the early stages of the season.
The Colonels have put together 61.0 ppg and shoot 32.6 percent from the floor as a team. On the glass Curry grabs 43.8 rpg as a squad.
INSIDE THE SERIES
- Suffolk has strung back-to-back wins together over Curry to even the all-time series, which dates back to 1983-84, at 15-15.
- The Rams and Colonels will square off for the 31st time overall Monday night in Boston.
Suffolk's Monday matchup opens a three-game week for the Rams, who are set to make the trip to Bridgewater State Thursday, Nov. 29 for a 7 p.m. battle.
