BIDDEFORD, Maine – A sluggish third quarter cost Suffolk women's basketball a Conference of New England (CNE) setback to the University of New England, 62-50, Tuesday night at Harold Alfond Forum.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Suffolk held University of New England scoreless over the first 3:40 of action, which allowed the blue-and-gold to build an 8-0 edge. Back-and-forth action closed out the opening quarter with the Rams ahead 15-10.
- Suffolk held onto the multi-possession advantage two minutes into the second stanza, 19-13. Over the next 5:43 the Nor'Easters stormed on an 11-4 rally that gave the host the upperhand, 24-23. After the lead flip, flopped and the scored locked at 27, Grace Boucher knocked down a jumper at the end of the first half to send the Rams into the break down 29-27.
- The blue-and-gold was unable to find its offensive grove in the third quarter, which allowed UNE to build a double-figure margin that remained at the end of 30 minutes, 44-32.
- That gap grew to as many as 14, 51-37, at the midway point of the final frame.
- A quick 6-2 stretch by Suffolk allowed the visitors to pull within eight, 53-45, with 3:04 left on the clock. Jordan Moreau sparked that run with an old-school 3-point play.
- The teams traded hoops and freebies the rest of the way, which allowed UNE to walk away with the 62-50 conference victory.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Allison Bono supplied 12 points on a 5-for-7 showing from the floor with five boards, two assists and one steal.
- Moreau registered 11 points, four caroms, and one helper.
- Delaney More had nine points thanks to a 4-for-8 performance from the field to go along with two boards and one handout.
- Tatiana Tune and Olivia Verdile notched seven points apiece. The former chipped in four rebounds and one steal as well, while the latter's stat line featured four boards, one assist and one takeaway.
- UNE won the battle on the boards, 47-33, which paid off with 16 second-chance points.
- Both teams poured in 32 points in the paint.
NOTEWORTHY
- More logged a career-high in points (9) and field goals made (5).
