Women’s Golf Wins Keene State Invitational

KEENE, N.H. – Suffolk women's golf closed out its weekend with another winning performance as the Rams captured the Keene State Invitational at the Keene Country Club Sunday.

The Rams handled the seven-team field as they compiled a 332. The blue-and-gold's card was 41 strokes better than runner-up Keene State, who shot a 373. That team performance marked a program-best at the Keene Country Club for Suffolk as it upstaged a 336, which the Rams achieved in 2023 in a head-to-head dual with the Owls.

Suffolk is undefeated through four events this season.

The individual podium was all Rams as Suffolk student-athletes secured spots first through third.

Krisna Mahendran claimed individual medalist honors at the event for the second straight season. The sophomore shot a 79 (+2) on the par-72 course to finish atop the 38-golfer field. The effort was one stroke greater than the Katy, Texas native's 18-hole personal best, which she put together at the 2024 Keene State Invitational, Sept. 29-30, 2024.

Mahendran's classmate Emory Goodson had her own Keene Country Club career-high showing of an 81 (+9) to slid into second, while junior captain Brooke Bugajewski rounded out the top three with an 82 (+10).

Lauren Phelan placed fifth thanks to a 90 and sophomore Alexia Hill shot a 99 to claim 13th.

Suffolk returns to action this weekend, Oct. 4-5, at the Bowdoin Tournament at the Brunswick Country Club.
