Taylor Wasylk, the first and only Suffolk University women’s hockey coach in the program began in 2016, announced on Monday she is stepping down to take over as the head women’s hockey coach at Lindenwood.

Taylor Wasylk, Suffolk women’s hockey head coach, and Rams’ senior Sofia Scilipoti are turning in their blue-and-gold for Spain’s red-and-yellow for the upcoming International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Women’s World Championships. Wasylk will serve as an assistant coach for Spain’s national team, while Scilipoti will skate as a player.

Suffolk women’s hockey’s Madison Duff wrapped up her collegiate career with the highest athletic honor as the senior captain was named an East Second-Team CCM Hockey/AHCA All-American, the American Hockey Coaches association (AHCA) announced Thursday night at the Frozen Four Banquet in Amherst, Massachusetts. Duff is the first Rams defender in program history and first skater from the blue line the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) to be tabbed an All-American.

In a historic night in Suffolk women’s hockey history, a postseason program record 41-save effort from Lily O’Neil would not be enough as the Rams’ first-ever NCAA Tournament game ended in a 4-0 setback to No. 7 Middlebury in the first round of the national tournament Wednesday at Chip Kenyon ’85 Arena.

NCAA First Round Preview: Women’s Hockey at No. 7 Middlebury

After earning its first CCC Championship in program history, Suffolk women’s hockey has its eyes set on a new crown, the NCAA Division III Women’s Hockey title to be exact, but the Rams will have to get by defending national champion, No. 7 Middlebury to advance. The blue-and-gold and nationally ranked panthers will square off in the first round Wednesday, March 8 at 7:00 p.m. Chip Kenyon ’85 Arena.
