Molind Signs with Almtuna IS of NDHL

BOSTON – Sam Molind BSBA '25 of the Suffolk women's ice hockey team will continue her playing days, as the forward signed with Almtuna IS of the Nationella Damhockeyaligan (NDHL).  

Almtuna IS is a part of the NDHL, the second-highest women's ice hockey league in Sweden that dates back to 2007, previously known as Division 1. The league engages in active promotion and relegation with the top-tier Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL).  

Almtuna IS will play a 12-game schedule from October through November. 

While in the blue-and-gold, Molind laced up her skates in 91 contests from 2021-25 and served as an assistant captain a year ago. She was a cog in 50 victories highlighted by the Rams 2022 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship and first-ever bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.  

The Middleboro, Massachusetts product potted 17 goals and set-up 26 others to finish her collegiate career with 43 points. Five of her strikes pushed Suffolk to victory including the game-winner to upset then-No. 8 Endicott, 4-3, Jan. 28, 2022, the program's first-ever win over a top-10 opponent. 

Molind is the second-ever Ram to sign a contract to keep her hockey career since Tess Adams, BS '20 signed with the Connecticut Whale, formaly apart of the National Women's Hockey League in 2019.
