HARRISVILLE, R.I. – Suffolk women's hockey closed a Conference of New England (CNE) home-and-home series with Nichols with a 4-3 victory Saturday at Levy Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nichols netted the first goal of the game 4:37 into the action, which forced Suffolk to play catch-up.
- The Rams caught up 4:37 later when Jenna Caballero chipped in a power play goal thanks to help from Liliana Moose and Bella Schmidt. That 1-1 stayed put as the teams went into the first intermission.
- The Bison poured in two answered over the first half of the middle period to take a 3-1 advantage,
- The Rams responded with two goals of their own over a 1:24 span to send the teams back into the locker room even at 3-all. Anya Nichipor potted the first thanks to aid from Cassie Borowski and Aiden Levee-Oshiro, before Moose put away the equalizer with no help.
- Suffolk gained the upperhand at the 6:48 mark of the third period thanks to an unassisted marker by Borowski.
- Katelyn Michals did her job the rest of the way as she denied the Bison's final six shots on target to preserve the Rams' 4-3 victory.
NETMINDER NOTES
- Michals finished with 46 saves in the win.
- Taylor Daley logged 22 stops in the setback.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Borowski and Moose posted identical one-goal, one-assist stat lines. The former put away the game-winner, while the latter was responsible for the game-tying puck.
- Caballero and Nichipor netted one goal each.
- Levee-Oshiro and Schmidt recorded one assist apiece.
- Nichols overpowered Suffolk in shots, 78-42, including a hefty 49-26 shots on target advantage.
- Both teams went 1-for-5 on the power play.
- Suffolk commanded the face-off dot, 40-28.
NOTEWORTHY
- The Rams have coupled back-to-back wins over Nichols to move to 13-3-2 all-time versus the Bison.
- Suffolk moved to 7-1-0 on the road versus Nichols and 4-1-0 against the Bison under Abby Ostrom's guidance.
- Michals notched her 1,000th career save. She is the second-ever Rams netminder to reach the 1k feat in between the pipes and first since Lily O'Neil did so against Nichols Nov. 11, 2023. Michals a junior transfer from Assumption made 956 stops of her 1,000 saves in blue-and-gold.
- Caballero and Nichipor tallied their first goals of the season.
- Moose has produced points in back-to-back games and scored her first goal of the year.
- Borowski had her first multi-point outing of the year.
- Levee-Oshiro and Moose logged their second assists of the season.
