HOW IT HAPPENED
- Suffolk turned the puck over in the attacking zone, allowing Mackenzie O'Leary to spring Amanda Forziati loose in transition. Forziati pushed the puck ahead to Averi Curran, who finished the play to give UNE a 1-0 lead just 5:54 into the opening period.
- Lainie Lemieux generated the Nor'easters' second tally, winning an offensive-zone faceoff that went directly to Forziati. She slid the puck back to O'Leary at the blue line, whose slapshot caromed off the back boards and right to Lemieux for the put away and a 2-0 advantage.
- After a scoreless second period, UNE struck early in the third. A scramble behind the Suffolk net left the puck loose out front, where Madeline Hill gathered and fired a slapshot through traffic and in to push the Nor'easters' lead to 3-0 with just under 13 minutes to play.
- UNE sealed the result at the 13:40 mark as Taddia buried a rebound off Grace Flannery's initial shot, capping the night with a 4-0 victory.
