EAST BOSTON – Suffolk women's lacrosse handled Wentworth, 19-9, in Conference of New England (CNE) action Saturday afternoon at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk commanded the first quarter as it outscored the Leopards 5-1. Julia Dickinson and Jessie Le were responsible for two goals apiece and Ally Colburn chipped in one.
Three unanswered markers by the Leopards over a 5:10 span cut the deficit down to one, 5-4, with just over three minutes to go before halftime.
The Rams ended the quarter with two goals in 16 seconds, one from Dickinson and one by Colburn, to take a 7-4 edge into the locker room.
The teams traded two goals in the first 10 minutes of the third quarter to keep the three-goal margin intact, 9-6. Suffolk's goals in that stretch were off the sticks of Zoe Peckham and Lauren Woods.
The bule-and-gold closed out the quarter with four unanswered goals to lengthen its lead to seven, 13-6. Colburn, Peckham, Dickinson and Le all found the back of the net in that span in that order.
A man-up goal by Colburn 1:32 of the fourth frame extended the edge to eight, 14-6.
Wentworth battled back with two goals in less than a minute to slice the deficit down to six, 14-8.
The Rams closed out the contest on a 5-1 run thanks to goals two goals by Colburn and one apiece by Dickinson, Peckham and Kaitlyn Boyce for the 19-9 final.
GOALIE LOG
- Charlotte Guziejka had 12 saves in the victory.
- Hayden Saunders took the setback with a seven-save effort.
- Lily Cohen also defended the cage for the Leopards.
