BEVERLY, Mass. – Suffolk women's lacrosse goalkeeper Charlotte Guziejka was selected as the Conference of New Engand (CNE) Defensive Player of the Week following her performance in the Rams' season opener Sunday afternoon.
Guziejka stood tall in net in Suffolk's 9-7 setback to Husson, turning aside six shots, while adding two caused turnovers and five ground balls. Her effort anchored the Rams' defensive unit and kept the game within reach throughout the afternoon.
The sophomore becomes the first player in the program's two-year history to be named defensive player of the week. She is just the fifth individual in the record books to earn a weekly conference honor, collecting the program's sixth overall award and first of the 2026 season. It is also the first weekly accolade since Ally Colburn was tabbed rookie of the week on April 14, 2025.
Suffolk returns to action Wednesday, March 4 with its first road test of the season, traveling to Mount Holyoke for a 6:00 p.m. opening draw.
