BOSTON – A seven-point afternoon from Julia Dickinson powered the Suffolk women's lacrosse team to its first win of the season, a 13-5 victory over crosstown rival UMass Boston on Saturday at Sweeney Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Following an early Beacon strike, Dickinson evened the score with a free position goal at the 9:03 mark of the first quarter. Carley Ehwa then gave Suffolk its first lead of the night, weaving through three UMass Boston defenders before beating the Beacon goaltender to make it 2-1 with 4:34 remaining in the quarter. Dickinson added two more in the final 55 seconds of the frame, the first off a feed from Bridget O'Leary and the second on her second free position goal of the game to give Suffolk a 4-1 lead after one.
- Ruby Eaton and Zoe Peckham added unassisted strikes over the first 3:29 of the second quarter before Lauren Woods converted a free position attempt to push Suffolk ahead 7-1 with 10:03 to play in the half. The Beacons responded with a goal late in the period to trim the deficit to 7-2 heading into the halftime break.
- Peckham added her second goal of the game following a feed from behind the net by Dickinson before Dickinson added a strike of her own with another free position goal to increase the advantage to 9-2 at the 12:32 mark. UMass Boston pulled one back, but Ehwa and Dickinson gave Suffolk its largest lead of the night with consecutive strikes over a 36-second span to make it 11-4 heading into the final frame.
- The Beacons managed a man-up goal, but Peckham added to her total to secure her hat trick late in the fourth quarter and Dickinson secured her fourth free position goal of the contest to close out a 13-5 victory.
GOALIE GLANCE
- Charlotte Guziejka stopped nine shots in the contest and secured two ground balls in her first win of the season.
- Elizabeth Crowley made seven saves in 45 minutes of action and Anette Bennet-Tucker recorded two saves in 15 minutes.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Dickinson paced the team with six goals and one assist.
- Peckham notched a hat trick and tallied one ground ball.
- Ehwa stacked the stat sheet with two goals, one assist, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers.
- Eaton and Woods each netted one goal, with the latter adding three ground balls.
- Penelope Lawlor led the team at the draw with three draw controls.
- Kate Carlson picked up a team-best four ground balls, and Taylor Joynt forced a team-high four turnovers.
- Suffolk outshot the Beacons 34-20 and grabbed 22 ground balls to UMass Boston's 15.

NOTEWORTHY
- The Rams and Beacons met for the second time in the all-time series.
- Suffolk moved to 1-1 in the series and 1-0 as the home team against the Beacons.
- Dickinson became just the third player in program history to record six goals in a game, joining Ewha (March 4, 2026) and Ally Colburn (most recently April 25, 2025). Dickinson moved to 10 goals on the year with her 10th career hat trick and added her first assist of the season.
- Ewha notched her first assist of the season, and her two goals brought her to 11 on the campaign. She also set career highs in ground balls (4) and caused turnovers (2).
- Peckham recorded the third hat trick of her career and first of the season to move to five goals on the year.
- Woods scored her third goal of the season.
- Eaton netted her first collegiate goal.
- O'Leary added her first assist of the campaign.

- Lawlor matched a career best with three ground balls.
