RECORDS: Suffolk (4-3) | Fitchburg State (2-3)

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Suffolk found itself in a 4-1 hole with just under five minutes to play in the opening quarter. Jessie Le was responsible for the Rams first strike of the game, which came unassisted 2:40 into the contest. The blue-and-gold picked up the pace in the final 3:30 of the first frame as Charlotte Goodman converted a free position shot and O'Leary scored with no help to trim the margin to one, 4-3, at the end of the first 15 minutes.
  • The Falcons sandwiched goals around a Dickinson marker to hold onto a 6-4 edge with just over nine minutes to play in the half. The Rams controlled things from there as they went on a 4-1 run to take an 8-7 lead into the locker room. That rally featured markers from Le, Dickinson, and two from O'Leary.
  • Suffolk scored three unanswered to get the third underway thanks to Peckham, O'Leary and Dickinson and traded three more tallies to Fitchburg State's two to end the third quarter with a comfortable 14-9 cushion.
  • Déjà vu from the third got the fourth frame underway as three different blue-and-gold sticks put away goals in Ehwa, Pechkam and Dickinson to stretch the distance to 17-9. It was cruise control for the Rams from there as they outscored the Falcons, 6-2, over the final 7:30 for the 22-11 final.
