Freshman Leslie Hayden (Ross, CA) was voted Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year by the conference coaches for 2008.
Hayden was also named to the second All-Conference team and was selected to the All-Sportsmanship team by her teammates.
The freshman forward had 17 goals on the season, ranking her second in the conference. In 14 games, Hayden amassed 37 points, third best in the GNAC. Hayden averaged 2.64 points per game, the best in the conference. She had five multi-goal games on the season and two game-winning goals. She was also named GNAC Rookie of the Week on Sept. 29.
