KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Suffolk women's soccer inched up one spot in the United Soccer Coaches Division III Regional Rankings as the Rams slid into seventh in Poll 2, the national organization unveiled.
The Rams improved one place after it handled Rivier, 5-0, and shutout Hartford, 2-0, last week to remain unbeaten, 4-0-1 on the season. The blue-and-gold is undefeated through the first five games of the season for the second consecutive campaign and has compiled five shutouts together for the first time since Oct. 1-20, 2011 when it had seven straight shutouts.
Suffolk made the program's debut in the regional rankings a week ago in eighth and appeared on the regional list for the second time in as many weeks and in program history. It is one of three Conference of New England (CNE) teams featured in the top-8 of Region II Sept. 16 as Hartford sits fifth and Roger Williams emerged in the poll in eighth.
The Rams look to keep their unbeaten streak going as they step away from conference competition Wednesday, Sept. 17 when Lesley stops by East Boston Memorial Park's James A. Sartori Stadium for a 7 p.m. first kick.
