The Suffolk University Women's Tennis team topped Rhode Island College by an 8-1 margin in non-conference action on Thursday evening.
The Rams cruised to the victory winning all three doubles matches and also earning five singles wins. Freshman Jane Skorobogatova earned victories in both the top singles and doubles positions. Skorobogatova pushed her record to 4-0 in singles play with consecutive 6-0 victories in the first singles position. Skorobogatova and senior Alex Hernandez-Vallant (Newton, Mass.) were winners in top doubles game by a 8-2 margin.
Junior Kelly Conrad (Lanstuhl, Germany) was a multiple winner on the evening as she was a victor in the two singles postion, and partnered with freshman Lizzy Arkins (Melrose, Mass.) for a 8-1 match victory. Arkins also earned her second win of the year in singles play as she was a 6-2, 6-3 victor in the five singles spot.
Junior Rebecca Copeland (Britol, R.I.) was the Rams' other multi-winner on the evening as she won her singles set in the third position by consecutive 6-0 scores and then later partnered with freshman Stacey Politis (Saugus, Mass.) for a 8-6 victory.
Freshman Georgia Ward (Exeter, R.I.) was victorious in the four singles position for the Rams as she won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2.
The Rams will be back in action on Saturday as they host Albertus Magnus College at 4:00pm.
