2017 SUFFOLK WOMEN'S TENNIS SCHEDULE
BOSTON – Coming off its 10th consecutive GNAC postseason appearance, the Suffolk women's tennis team looks to make its 11th straight trip and bring home its second title in 2017 as newly named interim head coach Matthew Tiberii released the full schedule Friday morning.
Action gets underway at Rhode Island College with first serve set for Tuesday, Sept. 5. The Rams will take on the Anchormen in the first match of the season for the second straight year with Suffolk falling in a tight 5-4 battle a year ago.
After visiting Salve Regina Thursday, Sept. 7, the blue-and-gold hosts four of its five home matches over the next two weeks. Roger Williams stops by Monday, Sept. 11 to open the homestand before 2017 NCAA participant Bridgewater State pays the Rams a visit Thursday, Sept. 14. Suffolk entertains Wentworth a week later (Sept. 21) and acts as the final test before GNAC action begins Saturday, Sept. 23 versus the Mustangs of Mount Ida.
Suffolk spends the next five contests on the road as it wraps up September at conference newcomer Regis (Sept. 27) and Albertus Magnus (Sept. 30). The Rams step out of league action when they visit Lesley (Oct. 2) and conclude the road stretch at St. Joseph (Conn.) and Johnson & Wales, Oct. 7 and 11, respectively.
Simmons stops by Suffolk Saturday, Oct. 14 to close the curtain on the regular season.
The Rams will have their hands full in their trek to its 11th consecutive conference tournament trip as they lost their top two players in three-time GNAC Player of the Year Aidiana Sagyndykova and all-league first-team singles selection Valentina Medina. However, Suffolk returns multiple racquets with experience including seniors Jacquelyn Nakamaura and Isabel Rathlev, as well as juniors Elena Cisneros Garcia and Meagan French.
